- RED BELL PEPPER – The star of the show! Red peppers are way sweeter than a green pepper, which adds so much natural sweetness to the hummus. When you roast them they develop a beautiful natural smokey flavor that adds a really nice flavor.
- GARBANZO BEANS – Packed with healthy fiber to keep you feeling full.
- OLIVE OIL – This gives the hummus a creamy texture and helps emulsify everything perfectly.
- PAPRIKA – Smoked paprika is the go-to in our house! The paprika gives the hummus a really lovely flavor with a pinch of heat.
- CUMIN – Just a pinch adds a wonderful rich, warm flavor to the hummus.
- Salt – Salt adds balance to the hummus, and balances with the sweetness of the peppers.
- GARLIC – Adds another layer of flavor and depth. It really does enhance the overall flavor profile.
- LEMON JUICE – The perfect acid that also helps balance out the sweetness of the peppers.
- TAHINI – Adds the smoothness to the hummus we all love.


How to Make Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
- Roast the red peppers – Turn the oven to broil. Cut the peppers into 1/4ths and place on a baking sheet, brush the peppers with olive oil and place in the oven for 5-8 minutes until the skins start to blister. Remove and let cool for about 5 minutes, or until the outer skin can be removed easily.
- Prepare the hummus – In a food processor, add the garbanzo beans, garlic, and lemon juice, Pulse until smooth. Next, add in the olive oil, spices and salt, blend again until smooth.
- Add the red peppers – Slice the de-skinned red peppers and add them to the food processor. Blend until smooth. Drizzle in extra olive oil if needed to smooth out the hummus. Serve with veggies, pretzels, or pita!

- Turn on the oven to broil. Place the peppers on a baking sheet skin side up, and brush the peppers with olive oil. Broil the peppers in the oven for 5-8 minutes or until the skins start to blister. Remove and let cool for about 5 minutes. Once cool remove the blistered skins from the peppers.
- In a food processor add the garbanzo beans, garlic, and lemon juice, Pulse until smooth. Next, add in the olive oil, spices and salt, blend again until smooth.
- Slice the de-skinned red peppers and add to the food processor. Blending until smooth. Drizzle in extra olive oil if needed to smooth out the hummus to your liking. Serve with veggies, pretzels, or pita!
