Ingredients
1cupwarm water105-107℉
1/3cupavocado oil
2Tbsphoney
1mediumeggbeaten
1Tbspdry active yeast (1½ Tbsp for sea-level)see notes**
1Tbspsalt
3¾cupbread flour(450 grams)
For egg wash
1mediumeggbeaten
Instructions
In a stand mixer add the water, yeast, honey, avocado oil, and whisk together. Allow the yeast to bloom and become foamy, this should take 3-5 minutes.
Add in the flour, salt, and egg. Using the dough hook, knead for 5 minutes, until the dough no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl. If it is still sticks, add 1 Tbsp of additional flour at a time.
Divide the dough into 8 pieces. Flatten into a rectangle about 5 inches long, starting at one long end, carefully roll up the dough. Roll again until the it is about 6 inches long. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet seam side down, about 1 inch from one another.
Cover, and set in a warm area of your kitchen for 25-30 minutes or until they have become fluffy and increased in size. Don't worry if they touch each other, this allows for them to stay soft on the sides and not form a crust!
5. Preheat the oven to 400℉. Brush each bun with egg wash, and bake 22-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Notes
**I live at 5,000 feet elevation in Colorado, so my yeast levels are lower. If you live closer to sea-level, etc. use more yeast.**
