EEEEEEEK! Does anyone else get as excited for Halloween time like I do? It always feels as if Halloween is the official start of being creative as possible for the upcoming months. I mean once Halloween hits, then we have Thanksgiving and Christmas and we all know the recipes that come during the winter months. That’s also another reason why these Spooky Peanut Butter Cookies are a great option. It is such a fun time of year to try something new in the kitchen, like my Pumpkin Bread!

Why are these Spooky Peanut Butter Cookies are worth making…

  • They are gluten-free!
  • Only ONE bowl and 5 ingredients are needed to make these = super easy cleanup!
  • They are the perfect go-to recipe for a fun Halloween treat

Ingredients

  • PEANUT BUTTER – the star of the recipe, this adds the smoothness and richness to the cookies.
  • SUGAR – the sugar creates a beautiful chewiness in the cookie when baked, and of course the sweetness!
  • EGG – adds structure to the cookie and helps to bind everything together so they do not fall apart when you bake them!
  • CHOCOLATE – I used chocolate disc’s for the body. Use what you have access to, chocolate chunks, or even a Hershey Kiss. These all work splendidly.

How to Make 5 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies!

  1. Pre-heat the oven– 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl – In a medium sized bowl, add the peanut butter, egg, and sugar to a bowl and mix until combined.
  3. Shape into balls and bake – Place shaped balls onto a parchment lined baking sheet, pop into the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden.
  4. Allow to cool – Place baked cookies on a cooling rack, and let cool for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Frosting – Add a chocolate chunk/disc to the middle of the cookie and add in two googly eyes. Pipe on 8 legs (or as many as you want!). Allow the chocolate to harden/set for about 10 minutes. Enjoy!
