4th of July in the Mountains

Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, this cozy Airbnb offered the perfect mix of mountain adventure and peaceful retreat. This cabin Airbnb captures everything to love about Colorado — beauty, cozy comfort, and peace.

The Cutest Rustic Airbnb in Colorado

I officially might have found the perfect Airbnb in the state of Colorado. Since moving out west I’ve been searching for a place to mosey off to for the weekend and disconnect. The Galaxy Cabin was more than I asked for.

This quaint 1 bedroom cabin is located about 3 hours west of Denver, and about 2 hours from Fort Collins. The drive is definitely worth the views and vibes.

ANTHROPOLOGIE MEETS RUSTIC WESTERN

I’m a huge sucker for a beautifully decorated room, and this cabin was just that.

A majority of the decor in this lovely space was foraged in the wilderness. Throughout the cabin, rustic trays and shelves are lined with stones, skulls, and antique glassware. Like something you’d find straight out of a magazine

The act of creating a beautiful space with nature is something I strive for in my personal life and appreciate day to day.

HISTORY OF THE GALAXY CABIN

The cabin was built in the late 1800’s, made entirely from hand chinked, antique railroad-tie logs. You can tell by the outside how much effort went into building this beautiful structure. Just across the road from the cabins location is where the train used to pass by. Crazy to imagine that those same logs the trains traveled across, are now the foundation for these cabins.

Present day, there are a total of 3 cabins that reside on the land, all hand-built plus the owners house (which is stunning as well). The Galaxy Cabin is the cabin we stayed in and shown in the photos attached!

The owners were incredible hosts as well, John and Amy made us feel so comfortable and offered to let us use their smoker for brats + steaks we brought! Just a short walk distance up to their main house, they have a beautiful private seating area to hangout while the food cooks. Seriously a great experience at this Airbnb!

One thing to consider is that there is no running water in this cabin, so yes, that means you have a outhouse to utilize during your stay and no sinks in the cabin. They provided water tanks for doing dishes or washing your hands so that was super helpful! But truthfully, I had no complaints here on using an outhouse! I was hesitant when we booked, but when we arrived I felt way more comfortable and was ok with the setup. The outhouse was shockingly beautiful, they just built it. No stink whatsoever.

If you’re looking for a quiet weekend getaway in the Rocky Mountains and one that is dog friendly, you certainly need to check this place out!
